Competitive Squad Gymnastics

When Gymnasts show the potential to develop their gymnastics and to compete, they will be offered the opportunity to join one of squad groups by a member of the coaching team. 

Female gymnasts begin in our Pre-squad from the age of 4. 

or Development squad from around the age of 7. This will enable them plenty of opportunity to extend their skill base, with competitions starting in  the Novice criteria. 

When Gymnasts show the commitment required and the determination to progress and compete at a higher level, they will be invited into our Junior squad. From this the usual route is into our Senior Squad where they compete across all four apparatus in the higher competitive categories throughout the South East region.

Those gymnasts who show the ability and aptitude may be invited into the clubs Women’s Artistic Squad. The squad trains separately from the rest of the clubs squad, following a different gymnastics pathway set by British Gymnastics towards Gradings and Levels also in the South East region.
