Fareham 4-peice Competition

Many of our gymnasts headed over to fareham for their annual competition. The first round saw Katherine perform 2 excellent vaults giving her a bronze medal. Katy competed for the first time and

In the second round, Verity put in a lovely performance on floor giving her a silver medal. Isabel and Molly came a joint third place for their vaulting. Molly added to her medal haul with a silver on bars, gold on beam and floor, leaving her with the 1st place overall medal! Bethan competed a beatufilly finished floor rouitne for the silver medal.

Milliegh had an outstanding day, winning the gold medal on floor, beam and vault!

Isabella, Frankie and Ellie, wiped the floor for medals. Isabella showed an exceptional floor routine giving her the gold medal, leaving her in third position overall. Ellie had an outstanding bar routine for the gold medal, raising her overall score finishing in 2nd. Frankie came 3rd on bars and floor, a 2nd on beam, and 1st for vault, giving her an edge above the rest for the gold medal winning overall postition.

Close competition between twins, Caitlyn and Betsy. Caitlyn finished the day with 1 bronze, 2 silvers and 2 gold medals. Betsy ended the day with 1 bronze and 4 gold medals.

Sophie outshone her competitors winning all five gold medals!

Hannah had an amazing, polished floor rouitne for third place. Nancy finished with two bronze medals for both bars and vault. Olivia, competed a strong vault winning the silver medal. Zoe topped up the medals, with 3rd place bar and floor routines, a gold beam, giving her the silver overall medal.

Southbourne finished with an outstanding 44 medals to their name! Well done Girls.


Burgess Hill Competition

On the 22nd March, several of our gymnasts competed in their first Sussex Floor and Vault Competition which was held at the Triangle in Burgess Hill.

In the first round, Sammy competed for the first time in the 8years Novice caterogry. Sammy performed extremly well on the day, finishing in 14th postion out of 21 gymnasts.

Round 2 saw Katherine, also competing for the first time in the 9yrs Novice catergory who performed 2 very clean vaults to finish in 13th place overall. Bethan, competing in the Novice 10yr group, had an outstanding vault giving her 4th place, a polished floor routine in 6th, leaving her in overall 4th position, just narrowly missing out on a medal.

Molly and Verity competed in the Novice 8/9 yr group. Verity had an excellent floor routine which gave her a 3rd place and finsihing overall in 10th postion. Molly had an outstanding day, with 2nd on floor and 3rd on vault leaving her with a silver medal overall!

Oliver competed in the Novice boys 8/9yr category. His performance left him with a 5th place for vault and 3rd place for floor, giving him Southbournes second silver medal of the day.

Later on, the advanced 10/11yr girls, Isabella, Eleanor and Ellie competed against 19 gymnasts. A very strong start on the vault form all three, Isabella 9th, Eleanor 5th and Ellie 1st. New floor routines proved to be a bonus, Ellie 10th, Eleanor 3rd and Isabella 2nd. Leaving the girls in a fantastic 8th overall for Isabella, Eleanor narrowly missing out on a meadal in 4th place and Ellie finishing off with the overall Gold medal.

Tatum, in the Girls Novice 10yr had the largest number of competitiors at 26. Against thr strong competition, Tatum competed a brilliant floor routine to give her 8th place.

Round 4, saw the older competitors, Emelia and Francesca in the Novice 12/14yr category compete with a neat, tidy floor routines to finsih in 7th and 2nd place respectively.
