Chichester Invitational, 29th March 2009

Report and results of the Chichester Invitational competition held on 29th March 2009.

At Chichester's Invitational competition the squad gymnasts won 6 gold, 7 silver and 8 bronze medals. 

In the novice under 9's on vault the club's gymnasts won all 3 medals with Lindsey Hart winning gold, Chloe Wileman silver and Caitlyn Odin bronze and Laura Hayes finished 4th narrowly missing out on a medal.  Caitlyn Odin also won bronze on floor and silver on bars and came 2nd overall. 



In the novice under 11's Rebecca Wilson picked up two silver medals for floor and vault.  Jasmine Stapleton won bronze on vault and Charlotte Horner gold on floor.  Jessica Wileman was 0.2 off bronze position with her polished floor routine.  Sophie Bennett won two silver medals on floor and vault in the novice under 15's group.  In the intermediate under 9's Dani Thorn competed in her first 4 piece competition for the club and finished just outside the medals on floor in 4th position. 

The under 13's saw Paige Hanson win 3 golds on vault, floor and bars despite a sore ankle and Becky Durham gave excellent performances on floor and beam just 0.1 and 0.2 out of the medal positions.  The under 11's intermediate was a successful group for the club with Isobel Hanson winning bronze on bars and Abby Moss winning gold on vault and bronze on floor.  Jade bailey won silver on beam and bronze on floor and finished 2nd overall.  Alisha Redfern and Meghan Scott gave excellent performances competing new skills for the first time in competition. 

The gymnasts now return to the gym to work hard on their skills ready for the coming months where they have competitions every month through until July.
