SE Reigional Competition


The South East Regional competition was split over two weekends. The first in septemeber for level 5 in age and Level 4 out of age, saw four of southbourne gymnasts take part. Further gymnasts participated in the level 3 modified competition in october.

Milleigh. Lani and Isabella all participated in the level 5 in age competition that was held on saturday 19th september. All three gymnasts had highs and lows competitng in a strong field of 25 gymnasts!

On the sunday, Sophie participated in the level 4 out of age for 2005 births. In a group of 13 gymnasts, Sophie faught hard for a position on the vault, however with three 1st place ties, leaves her narrowly missing out by just 0.3 for tied 5th place, with a high score of 11.250. With many of the girls producing a higher start value on bars, Sophie held her nerve for a 10th place finish, with many joint placings.

18th october, saw Southbourne head to NDGA in Tunbridge Wells. Molly competed for the first time in a Womens Artistic Competition. A anxious start for Molly with 19 other competitiors, which began on bars with a score of 10.65 for 8th place.  Continuing onto beam with a beautifully exicuted routine with a score of 10.90, which gave her 1st place. Molly then powered down the vault, 10.85, for 5th place. A few wobbles on floor gave her 11th place. Finishing Mollys competition off with a 3rd place socre of 42.50 and the bronze medal overall.

 

In the next round, our older gymnast competed in the modified level 3 competition. Molly competed in the 2001+ caterogry against 12 others. A score of 9.90 on beam gave her 5th place and 11.25 on bars for 6th place.

Chloe, Hannah and Nancy competed together in the 2004/03/02 category against 15 other gymnasts. Chloe gave a strong vault, 11.40 for 7th place. A clean, tidy routine on bars, 11.15, for 8th and a tumble-packed floor routine with newly executed moves, 10.20 for 7th place.  Hannah also competed several new moves for the first time, including a half-twisting back somi on floor. A powerful 1/2 on 1/2 off vault for 10th place. Nancy executed  the same powerful vault for joint 10h place. A great routine on beam, 10.10 for 6th place.  Nancys jam-packed floor rouitne , also with new moves, 10.10 for 8th place.
